Up Next: PowerShell MVP Don Jones

As I’m sure many of you are aware, the Mississippi PowerShell User Group has already scheduled the remainder of this year with an awesome lineup of guest speakers. Each of our guest speakers this year is an author of at least one chapter in the PowerShell Deep Dives book:

The guest speaker we have lined up for our May meeting is Don Jones who is one of the best PowerShell Speakers so be sure you don’t miss this meeting. Don is a multi-year recipient of the prestigious Microsoft MVP award and he speaks at conferences throughout the world. Don has also written multiple books on PowerShell, here are the ones that I’ve read and I would highly recommend all of them. Several of these books are co-authored by other PowerShell MVP’s, some of which will be speaking later this year for the Mississippi PowerShell User Group.

For those of you who haven’t attended our meetings before, they’re online (virtual) via Microsoft Lync so anyone from anywhere can attend. Our meetings are also free to attend and open to the public, but we are limited to a certain number of attendees who can join our Lync meetings so head on over to EventBrite and register for our May meeting which will be held at 8:30pm Central Time on May 14th. The URL needed to attend this user group meeting will be emailed to you via the EventBrite registration process.

For information about the system requirements to attend our meetings, see the “Attendee Info” page on this site.

We look forward to seeing you (virtually) at the meeting and as always, we will have a couple of PowerShell related items to be given away to random attendees during the meeting.

Here are a couple of current events that are taking place in the PowerShell community this week:

The PowerShell Summit North America 2013 is going on right now as you read this. You can download the presentation materials even if you weren’t able to attend.

Registration for the Scripting Games is taking place now, so be sure not to miss out on this awesome opportunity to learn about PowerShell by having judges and people in the community critique your PowerShell one-liners and scripts. You”ll also have a chance to win prizes by participating.
