For our August 2019 Mississippi PowerShell User Group virtual meeting, Mike Kanakos will be presenting “PowerShell Remoting: From 0 to Lockdown in 45 Minutes!” on Tuesday, August 13th at 8:30pm central time.
Let’s walk through all the options available for securing PowerShell remoting/WinRM! How to enable globally, setup logging, transcription and briefly talk about certificates and SSL
Here’s a little information about Mike:
“I’m an IT pro located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. I’ve spent my career supporting all flavors of Window operating systems from Windows 95 til today. I am proud to call myself a seasoned Active Directory Pro and PowerShell fanatic as well as a sysadmin who loves to solve problems in interesting ways. I live and breath Active Directory every day and I want to share with others my ideas on how to run AD in the best way I know how.
Last year, I was honored to have been recognized as a top 50 blogger in the PowerShell community and to have been included in the first edition of the PowerShell Conference Book. I write articles regularly for the 4sysops website as well as own my blog. My articles cover AD, GPO and of course PowerShell. I focus on showing readers how to get the best results in the shortest amount of time.
I am also the co-leader of the Raleigh-Triangle PowerShell users group, which recently became the PowerShell group in the US with the largest member count. We feature top speakers every month on a range of topics related to PowerShell. At the end of the day, I am just like every other sysadmin trying to keep my network of computers running as best I can.”
The Mississippi PowerShell User Group Meetings are typically held online (via Skype for Business) on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30pm Central Time and are free to attend.
The system requirements to attend these online meetings can be found on the MSPSUG website under the “Attendee Info” section.
